About You and The Role
You are a detail-oriented, execution-focused person who thrives in the field. As a Journeyman Electrician , you will be the hands-on expert responsible for installing, commissioning, and servicing critical power systems—including generators, battery storage, and network cabinets. This role is perfect for someone who values safety, follow technical drawings to the letter, and enjoy seeing a complex installation through to successful startup. You are comfortable with periodic travel (roughly 3–4 days every month) and ready to work in both warehouse and outdoor environments. What You'll Do Install and terminate electrical equipment, wiring, conduit, and cable trays. You will integrate backup generators, battery energy storage systems (BESS), inverters, and communications cabinets. Pull, route, label, and terminate both power and low-voltage/data cabling, ensuring proper grounding and surge protection. Perform equipment startups and functional testing. You’ll use diagnostic meters to troubleshoot wiring or controls and ensure everything is operating per spec. Execute all work strictly according to NEC codes, OSHA standards, and company SOPs. This includes rigorous lock-out/tag-out and arc-flash safety practices. Maintain a high standard of record-keeping by completing installation checklists, test reports, daily work orders, and commissioning logs. What You'll Bring A valid Journeyman Electrician License and at least 4 years of electrical installation experience. The ability to read and interpret complex schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals.Proficiency in NEC codes and experience (or a strong interest) in generators, solar PV, or battery backup systems. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs regularly, climb ladders, work in confined spaces, and withstand outdoor weather conditions. A "zero-incident" safety mindset and a commitment to minimal rework through strict adherence to quality standards. A valid driver’s license, a willingness to travel, and the communication skills to interact professionally with customers and site contacts. What Else You Need to Know The starting hourly range for this role is $50-$75. This is a contractor role. Please note that this is a target, starting cash range for a candidate who meets the minimum qualifications for this role. The final cash pay for this role will depend on a variety of factors, including a specific candidate's experience, qualifications, skills, working location, and projected impact.
