Joseph House is a mission rooted in the social teaching of the Catholic Church. We provide supportive housing and social services to, advocate for, and empower the poor, oppressed or vulnerable with special attention to the incarcerated and formerly incarcerated individuals. We do this on a non-discriminatory, non-sectarian basis.

The Clinical Director is a senior leadership position responsible for overseeing all therapeutic aspects of the organization's residential program. This role requires advanced clinical training and skills in trauma-informed mental and behavioral health assessment and treatment. The Clinical Director will also be involved in supervising other staff, coordinating with community partners, and working closely with the Executive Director and leadership team to advance the mission.

We are privileged to work alongside individuals who are reentering society from prison. We accept residents to our program based on our ability to meet their needs, regardless of the crime they were convicted of. This is a new position in a fairly young mission so we will favor candidates who are open to thinking creatively and interested in helping us build this mission for the long-term needs of our participants and residents.

Compensation:

Salary range based on level of experience: $90,000-$100,000

Eligible to participate in the Diocese Benefit plan (Medical, Dental, Vision, LTD, STD, Vision, Basic & Voluntary Life) 1st of the month following 60 days of employment and the Diocese 401K plan after one year of employment.

Characteristics

Understanding of complex trauma and trauma-informed care
Training and experience in trauma-specific treatment modalities
Experience serving individuals with substance use disorders
Experience supervising staff in a treatment setting
Ability to work effectively with people of diverse backgrounds in a culturally humble and sensitive manner
Ability to work alongside volunteers in an ecumenical, inter-religious setting
Availability to work evenings and weekends as needed
Availability to travel to prisons to visit prospective residents
Essential Responsibilities and Duties
Conduct trauma-informed assessments
Develop treatment plans for residents with complex trauma histories and substance use disorders
Provide trauma-specific individual and group interventions
Work closely with case managers to connect residents with community providers
Coordinate treatment planning with community providers for continuity of care
Provide crisis intervention
Contribute to organizational development as a member of the leadership team
Represent the organization at professional and community meetings
Train staff, board members, and volunteers in trauma-informed approaches
Actively participate in ongoing training to meet credentialing requirements
Possess strong administrative skills including basic computer skills

Requirements

Minimum of master's degree in mental health related field (social work, mental health counseling, etc.)
Current licensure (LCSW, LPC, or equivalent) required.
Valid driver's license
Background screening

Preferred Experience

Minimum of five years of full-time experience providing direct services to clients
Experience with justice-involved individuals
Reports to
The Clinical Director will report directly to the Executive Director.
