Prior waxing experience is welcome but not required. Every Cerologist™ — regardless of background — completes our full training program and learns Waxing the City's proprietary techniques and service standards. The most important thing you bring is the right mindset, client instincts, and coachability.


ABOUT THE ROLE
This role is equal parts service professional and client experience specialist. You'll deliver high-quality waxing services, build lasting client relationships, and contribute to a studio culture where everyone is invested in shared success. The best Cerologists here are consultative by nature — they genuinely enjoy helping clients understand their options, make confident decisions, and keep coming back.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

• Actively recommend memberships or service packages, and retail products through consultative, client-first conversations
• Build and retain a personal book of clients through strong rebooking habits and relationship-building
• Perform waxing services in accordance with Waxing the City training, protocols, and quality standards
• Conduct thorough consultations and follow up to ensure client comfort, safety, and excellent results
• Educate clients on services, aftercare, and enhancement options in a way that feels helpful, not salesy
• Maintain clean, stocked, and professional treatment rooms at all times
• Participate in studio marketing efforts, including creating or participating in social media content and community events
• Follow all sanitation, safety, and operational procedures without exception
• Show up prepared, on time, and ready to contribute to a team-first environment
• Receive feedback professionally, apply it consistently, and continue growing

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
Required:

• Current Florida Esthetician or Cosmetologist license
• At least 18 years of age

Strongly Preferred:

• Experience in consultative sales, beauty retail, or membership-based environments
• Demonstrated ability to recommend products or services in a way that builds trust rather than pressure
• Comfort having natural, confident conversations about memberships, packages, and enhancements
• Track record of building loyal client relationships and a consistent book of business

Essential Traits:

• Coachability — genuine openness to learning our specific techniques, even if you have prior waxing experience
• Willingness to unlearn previous habits and follow our standards consistently — not just during training
• Ability to create a warm, welcoming experience for clients with varying personalities, including nervous or guarded first-timers
• Emotional intelligence and professionalism when handling difficult client interactions
• Team-first attitude — pitching in on cleaning, events, or studio needs without being asked
• Reliability and schedule stability — your teammates and clients count on you being there
• Comfort with social media for beauty-related content

• Complete training and consistently perform services according to Waxing the City standards
• Grow your book through strong rebooking rates, membership conversions, and product recommendations clients genuinely value
• Comfortably navigate membership and package conversations — offering the right option for each client's situation
• Build trust that keeps clients coming back — and referring others
• Bring energy and professionalism to every appointment, regardless of how your day is going
• Accept feedback openly and show measurable improvement over time
• Contribute positively to team culture and the studio's shared goals

COMPENSATION

• $14/hour base pay
• Tiered service commission: 5% on first $2,000/period, 8% on $2,000–$4,000, 10% above $4,000
• Product commission: 5% on first $500/period, 10% above $500
• Potential for membership-based sales bonuses
