Howmet is currently looking for a Monoshell Operator to join our Hampton Structural Castings (HSC) group in Hampton, Virginia. The available shift hours are 2nd shift, M-F 2pm-10pm.Training is 1st shift, M-F 6am-2pm. New Hire Starting Rate: $21.07 p/hr.; After 6 months: $23.41 p/hr. This position will receive an hourly "shift premium" of $1.00 p/hr. while assigned to an off shift. Job Summary: The HSC Monoshell Operator will build a ceramic mold around a completed wax assembly and to remove the wax once the mold is complete. Essential Functions & Job Responsibilities: * Operate and maintain mixing equipment, slurry pots, robot, pumps, hoist, hand grinders, boiler-clave, furnace, furnace controller, and various hand tools * Prepare and setup molds for dipping or dewax processing * Read and operate measuring equipment and gauges * Disposition and adjust process variables based on measurements * Measure, mix, add, apply, empty, and dispose slurry ingredients and process materials * Inspect, document, disposition and rework molds for damage and process deviations * Determine order of work and need to perform work based on work rules, priority lists, time calculations, observations and supervision instructions * Retrieve and put away materials, tools and supplies and cleanup work area * Mixes plaster powder and water according to specified formula * Ability to read and follow the information on work instructions * Record data either manually or by computer as required
