Our skilled nursing facility in St. Petersburg is looking for a detail-oriented and dependable Part-Time Medical Records Coordinator to join our supportive team. This role is perfect for someone who enjoys organization, accuracy, and playing an important behind-the-scenes part in quality resident care.
Position Overview:
The Medical Records Coordinator helps ensure that resident records are accurate, complete, and maintained in compliance with healthcare regulations. You will work closely with nursing and administrative staff to support smooth daily operations while helping maintain the highest standards of care documentation.
Key Responsibilities:
Maintain and organize resident medical records (paper and/or electronic)
Ensure records are accurate, complete, and compliant with facility policies and regulations
Process admissions, discharges, and record updates
Assist with chart audits and documentation requests
Maintain confidentiality and protect sensitive resident information
Support nursing and leadership teams with medical records needs
Qualifications:
Experience in medical records, healthcare administration, or a related role preferred
Skilled nursing or long-term care experience is a plus
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Proficiency with electronic medical record systems and basic computer skills
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
Must pay background screening FL Clearinghouse | Florida Agency for Health Care Administration
