Analytical Chemist (contract)

HPLC/UPLC & Mass Spec Experts Wanted! We are seeking an experienced (4+ years) Analytical Chemist for a lucrative contract-to-hire opportunity with one of the premier employers in Monterey County.

Title: Analytical Chemist
Contract-to-hire
Rate: $40-48/hr. (commensurate with experience)
Location: Castroville, CA (onsite)

The Analytical Chemist is a qualified and experienced laboratory analyst with a thorough understanding of analytical laboratory operations. Must be familiar and have experience with UPLC, LC-MS, and/or GC-MS. Experience in an analytical services laboratory, quality control laboratory, or GMP laboratory setting is highly desired.

Responsibilities:

• Operation and PM of laboratory analytical instruments.
• Performs routine analysis using validated methods.
• Participates in development, validation, and/or transfer of new analytical methods.
• General laboratory operation, ordering, and cleanliness.
• Conforms to quality system and relevant SOPs.
• Adheres to required controlled substance procedures
• Performs other tasks as required.

Required Education, Qualification and Skills:

• Experience (2.5-5 years) with HPLC/UPLC chromatography and/or gas chromatography is required.
• The ability and eagerness to learn new methods and instrumentation is required.
• Willingness and ability to precisely follow SOPs is required.
• Experience in an analytical services laboratory, quality control laboratory, or GMP laboratory setting is highly desired.
• Experience with gas chromatography and/or mass spectrometry is desired.
• Experience with Empower 3.0 is desired.
• Experience with botanical extraction, purification, and/or analysis is desirable.
