Material Tech
Drive and operate a sit-down forklift, tugger, and/or HiLo forklift in a fast-paced warehousing and shipping environment. Organize and stock material to meet warehousing requirements and inventory control efficiently. Utilize electronic interface equipment to pick and store material as needed. Escalate all scan faults to your supervisor, including no stocks, failed scans, or bad serial numbers.
Responsibilities
- Meet timing requirements for efficient processing of materials to achieve expectations.
- Store all material in proper locations and maintain height standards for storage.
- Sort and process dunnage for efficient storage and return to the supply base.
- Accurately count and record dunnage received and shipped.
- Organize and maintain general storage areas ensuring all material is stably stacked.
- Report all container degradation to supervisor or management.
- Maintain a safe and clear access to all doorways and foot traffic areas.
- Adhere to all safety rules and wear required Personal Protection Equipment.
- Practice safe driving practices and adhere to safe stacking and unstacking to avoid spills.
- Observe and report maintenance issues on powered industrial trucks.
- Perform pre-operations checklists and report findings on proper forms.
- Support plant-wide material organization and housekeeping goals.
- Adhere to FIFO guidelines for material rotation.
- Participate in plant inventories and material reorganization activities as required.
- Maintain powered industrial truck certification and attend update training.
- Bail cardboard and place bails in appropriate storage trailer locations.
- Operate electronic equipment such as scanners and tablets.
- Document all activities as required.
- Adhere to company guidelines for Emergency Evacuation.
- Report all accidents or observed property damage to supervision immediately.
- Initiate actions to prevent nonconformance and identify problems relating to the product, process, or system.
Essential Skills
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Good written and mathematical skills.
- Basic computer skills.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Powered Industrial Truck Certification.
- Familiarity with quality specifications and documentation in an automotive environment is a plus.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Departmental Training in Materials Management and Shipping Management.
- Knowledge of Hazardous Communication, Spill Prevention, Battery Change Out, and Min/Max Inventory.
- Company Training in BOS Overview, Information Technology, Quality Mission Statement.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $17.00 - $17.00/hr.
