Job Summary
Incumbents in this position is responsible for assisting with operation and maintenance vactor truck to include maintaining fluid levels, grease fitting, and proper electrical function. This position is assigned to pay grade G12.
Essential Job Functions
- Assists in the daily operation of the combined sewer cleaning operations
- Locates sewer manholes and cleanouts.
- Sets up safe work zones.
- Cleans sewer mains and locates areas that require cleaning.
- Maintains traffic control around the vactor truck.
- Performs preventive maintenance on vehicles.
- Performs other related job duties as assigned.
Education, Experience, and Other Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- Six (6) months of collections equipment or construction work experience or any related work field.
- Possession of or ability to readily obtain a valid State of North Carolina driver's license required.
- Requires NC Class B CDL with tanker endorsement or ability to obtain within 1 year of employment.
- NC Grade 1 Collections certification is preferred.
- This position will be placed on an On-Call rotation that requires a response within 30 minutes of notification.
