Material Logistics Specialist

Responsible for being a key reason why friends, family, and customers of American Airlines fly safely and on time. There are also opportunities for job growth and advancement, training, and working with many of the industry's most talented aviation professionals. Starting pay is $22.75 per hour.

Essential functions of the job include maintaining inventory, checking items, counting physical inventory, identifying objects, issuing items, loading and unloading items, packing and unpacking items, placing discrepancy items, receiving and preparing parts and materials, setting up stock room/inventory facilities, sorting non-serviceable items, stocking and retrieving items, visually inspecting items, completing proper paperwork, exchanging information with Inventory Records personnel, giving data on stock to Company personnel, performing general housekeeping, handling hazardous materials, signing for the quality of own work, maintaining knowledge of manuals and systems, coordinating with other employees, receiving assignments, properly completing forms, reports, and other paperwork, performing all functions in accordance with safety procedures, and completing job-relevant trainings.

Minimum qualifications include a high school diploma or GED, valid driver's license, ability to read, write, fluently speak and understand the English language, successful completion of all required qualifying tests, ability to distinguish colors, use simple arithmetic, knowledge of basic computer skills, willingness to work outdoors in any weather conditions, ability to work extra hours, ability to work rotating shifts, fulfilling FAA criminal background checks, securing appropriate airport authority and/or US Customs security badges, and being subject to Department of Transportation drug and alcohol testing.
