Position Overview: We are currently seeking a candidate to drive a tractor with lowbed trailer to move road construction equipment between job sites and plants. Based out of Acushnet Facility.

Essential Job Duties

• Ability to safely operate various pieces of construction equipment such as Pavers, Rollers, Excavators and Graders.
• Load and unload heavy equipment onto a lowbed trailer and secure the load for transportation.
• Transport heavy equipment between job sites.
• Communicate and coordinating with dispatchers.
• Obeying and following all applicable traffic laws, rules, and regulations.
• Securing cargo and properly arranging and balancing it within the vehicle.
• Maintaining a detailed log of working hours in compliance with state and federal regulations.
• Performing pre and post-trip vehicle inspection reports.
• Reporting any defects, accidents, or violations.
• Ensuring any mechanical issues with the vehicle are corrected before driving.
• Display a professional and courteous attitude to co-workers, supervisors, customers, and the general public at all times.
• Must be willing to work nights and weekends when necessary.
• Report to the assigned job site and be ready to begin work at the designated start time.
• Strict adherence to all Safety Practices & Procedures.
• Strict adherence to all company policies and procedures as outlined in the book of company policies.
• Willingness to work in a team environment and assist co-workers or supervisors with other duties as required.

Education/Experience

High school diploma or general education degree (GED). Previous experience operating heavy equipment is a must. CDL Class A License. Clean driving record. At least 1 year of driving experience.

Job Requirements

Valid driver's license and clean driving record. The ability to pass a pre-employment screening and testing. Strict adherence to safety requirements, procedures and personal protective equipment (PPE) policies.

Language Skills

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to hear and speak effectively to customers or employees of organization.

Mathematical Skills

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret graphs.

Reasoning Ability

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form is required to complete tasks in an efficient and safe manner.

Vision abilities required by this job include color, close, and distance vision, as well as peripheral, depth, and focus perception vision.

Work can be performed at heights, requiring the employee to climb and balance in ladders, scaffolds and stair towers, often with narrow steps and passageways. This position requires walking, standing, sitting, bending, twisting, sitting, stooping, kneeling, crawling, crouching, and lifting. Regularly required to sit and/or stand during a work shift of at least eight hours per day, on uneven surfaces, including natural ground and slopes in varying weather conditions. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms. Must be able to carry, lift, push, and pull up to 50 lbs without assistance Ability to operate equipment under extreme temperatures and for extended hours. Must be able to work a flexible schedule, based on project needs and demands.
