Accountant Family Office Accounting Professional
Join a prestigious wealth management firm in Northern Bergen County, NJ, as a Family Office Accountant, where your expertise will directly contribute to managing the financial affairs of high-net-worth clients. Location: Ridgewood, NJ - Hybrid Salary: $80K
What You Will Do:
- Prepare bank and account reconciliations with attention to detail
- Enter and review journal entries to ensure accuracy
- Maintain organized and accurate financial records and supporting documentation
- Scan, file, and organize invoices, statements, receipts, and other financial records
- Manage accounts payable and receivable processes
- Assist with ad hoc projects and reporting requests
- Provide general accounting and administrative support across family office and related entities
- Perform additional duties as assigned to support team efficiency
Required Skills:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field (preferred)
- Minimum of 5 years' bookkeeping experience in a family office or high-net-worth environment
- Proficiency in QuickBooks, QuickBooks Online, and Quicken
- Excellent computer skills, including Microsoft Excel, Word, Adobe, and Outlook
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail
- Ability to communicate professionally with high-net-worth clients
- Positive, proactive attitude with a "get it done" mindset
- Ability to multitask and adapt quickly to shifting priorities
Nice to Have Skills:
- Experience with fiduciary trust accounting
- Tax preparation and administration experience
- Familiarity with small office operational dynamics
Preferred Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field
- At least 5 years of bookkeeping experience in a family office setting
Other Requirements:
- Ability to work remotely two days per week after initial orientation
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Professional demeanor and discretion when handling sensitive financial information
