Position Overview
We are seeking a dependable Line Cooks to support daily kitchen operations in a fast-paced, high-volume environment. This role is responsible for preparing and cooking menu items using established recipes and culinary standards while maintaining consistency, quality, and cleanliness.
You’ll work alongside an experienced kitchen team and receive guidance from senior culinary staff while continuing to build your skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook menu items following standardized recipes and instructions
- Assist with ingredient prep, ensuring freshness and quality
- Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary workstation at all times
- Follow proper food handling, storage, and safety procedures
- Adhere to portion control standards to reduce waste
- Safely operate kitchen equipment and tools
- Ensure consistency in food presentation and preparation
- Collaborate with team members and take direction as needed
- Complete routine cleaning duties to maintain kitchen sanitation
- Support overall kitchen operations and assist with additional tasks as assigned
Qualifications
Education & Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent (REQUIRED)
- 6 months to 2 years of kitchen or food service experience preferred
- Culinary training or certification is a plus
- Equivalent combination of experience and training will be considered
- Must be able to obtain a Class B Gaming License, Food Handler's Card, and TIPS or RBS Certification
- Must be able to pass a background check and drug test
Skills & Abilities:
- Basic understanding of food safety and sanitation standards
- Strong attention to detail and consistency
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
- Solid knife skills and manual dexterity
- Team-oriented with a positive attitude
- Able to work flexible schedules, including weekends and holidays
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
- Strong communication skills in English (spoken and written)
Additional Requirements
- Must be able to obtain and maintain any required work permits or certifications (e.g., food handler card)
- Ability to perform basic math (measurements, ratios, portions)
- Comfortable working in an environment that may include exposure to smoke
Work Environment
This position operates in a busy kitchen setting with exposure to heat, noise, and varying temperatures. Candidates should be comfortable standing for extended periods and performing repetitive tasks.
