Job Title: Manufacturing Engineer
Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated Manufacturing Engineer to join our team in a robust production manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate will possess strong skills in process improvement and a keen ability to work collaboratively across various engineering disciplines.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement poka-yokes to enhance production efficiency.
- Utilize CAD and Autodesk Suite for design and engineering tasks.
- Effectively communicate with engineers from software, electrical, and mechanical disciplines.
- Improve production layouts for optimized workflow and efficiency.
- Collaborate with assemblers on the production floor to resolve problems.
- Apply PFMEA processes to improve manufacturing systems.
- Utilize shop floor software and ERP systems to streamline operations.
- Conduct quality control and auditing to maintain high standards.
Essential Skills
- Experience in manufacturing engineering with a focus on Six Sigma and lean manufacturing methodologies.
- Proficiency in root cause failure analysis and PFMEA.
- Basic CAD experience and process improvement skills.
- Experience with tooling, process engineering, and assembly.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Confidence in processes and the ability to assertively communicate with the shop floor team.
- Preferred management experience to oversee a quality and audit team of six.
- Previous audit experience is highly desirable.
- Ability to build out metrics for plant performance.
Work Environment
This role involves a blend of working on the production floor (40-50%), participating in meetings with the NJ team (10-15%), addressing installation issues (15%), and engaging in PFMEA meetings, fixture design, and process improvements. Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Plano, TX.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $38.46 - $48.08/hr.
