Job Description
This role focuses on exterior maintenance and repair work for residential complexes, with a strong emphasis on wood and stucco repairs. You will patch stucco, replace damaged exterior wood, and perform light painting to refurbish and enhance the appearance and integrity of building exteriors.
Responsibilities
- Perform exterior repairs on residential complexes, including patching stucco and replacing damaged or deteriorated wood components.
- Carry out light painting tasks to finish repaired surfaces and ensure a clean, consistent appearance.
- Use hand tools and power tools safely and effectively to complete carpentry, stucco, and painting work.
- Support general construction and refurbishment activities on vacant apartments as needed.
- Assist with basic drywall, finish carpentry, and rough carpentry tasks related to exterior and adjacent interior areas.
- Measure, cut, and install materials accurately using tape measures and other measuring tools.
- Prepare surfaces for paint and repair, including cleaning, sanding, and masking as required.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, including proper disposal of debris and materials.
- Work in teams of two to complete assigned units efficiently and according to quality standards.
- Follow safety procedures and guidelines while working with tools, materials, and on building exteriors.
- Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors about progress, issues, and material needs.
- Demonstrate a willingness to learn new skills and accept training in areas such as electrical, plumbing, or additional construction tasks as required.
Essential Skills
- Hands-on experience with wood and stucco repairs on building exteriors.
- Ability to patch stucco and replace exterior wood components to a high standard of quality.
- Basic carpentry skills, including rough and finish carpentry.
- Ability to perform light painting and paint preparation work.
- Proficiency using common hand tools and basic power tools safely.
- Ability to read and use a tape measure accurately.
- Mechanically inclined with strong general labor capabilities.
- Capability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting, carrying, and working on ladders as needed.
- Reliable work ethic with a consistent, positive attitude.
- Willingness to learn and accept training across multiple trade areas.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience in construction, exterior refurbishment, or apartment turnover work.
- Experience with drywall repair, finish carpentry, or cabinetry installation.
- Familiarity with metal stud work and basic framing concepts.
- Exposure to basic electrical or plumbing tasks in a construction or maintenance setting.
- Experience with cleaning and preparing units or work areas for occupancy.
- Ownership and use of personal wood and stucco tools is strongly preferred.
- Openness to cross-training in multiple trades and developing new technical skills.

Work Environment
This is a first-shift, full-time role, working Monday through Friday from 7:45 . to 4:30 . You will work primarily in teams of two, refurbishing vacant apartments and focusing on exterior areas of the complex. The work is hands-on and physically active, involving the use of hand tools, wood and stucco tools, painting equipment, and standard construction materials. You will spend much of your time on-site at residential properties, working both outdoors on building exteriors and occasionally indoors near exterior walls, in a setting that requires adherence to safety procedures and appropriate workwear suitable for construction and maintenance activities.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Santa Ana, CA.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $22.00 - $24.00/hr.
