Job description

Under the general direction of the Information Technology Supervisor II in the Application Development and Maintenance Office - Application Support Unit I, the Information Technology Specialist I (ITS I) mainly performs functions in the domain of Software Engineering.

The ITS I designs, develops, modernizes, and supports custom, commercial off-the-shelf (COTS), and Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) information systems used for consolidated application processing and compliance monitoring. This includes, but is not limited to, the Consolidated Application Reporting System (CARS), Compliance Monitoring Tracking (CMT) systems, and potential implementations using Salesforce and REI Gov Grants platforms.

The incumbent works closely with program staff and management in the Educational Data Management Division (EDMD) to provide software development, system analysis, and business process support services, ensuring systems are secure, scalable, and aligned with departmental and statewide standards.

Working Conditions

HYBRID

This position is headquartered in Sacramento and may be eligible for a hybrid telework schedule for eligible applicants residing in California. A hybrid telework schedule includes working remotely and working a minimum of 2 days per week in the office.

Desirable Qualifications In addition to evaluating each candidate's relative ability, as demonstrated by quality and breadth of experience, the following factors will provide the basis for competitively evaluating each candidate:
• Experience in the implementation, administration, maintenance, and support of Salesforce environment.
• Experience using the Microsoft technology stack (Visual Studio, .NET Core / Framework, SQL Server).
• Experience in database query and stored procedure development and performance optimization.
