Job description

Rinvio is hiring a Traveling Autonomous Equipment Technician for a national contract role supporting robotic equipment in real construction environments. This is a strong fit for someone who understands heavy machinery, field troubleshooting, active jobsites, and practical equipment support — not someone who only wants a desk-based technical role.

Pay: Around $120,000/year, based on experience

Location: Seattle, WA area preferred; candidates should live within approximately 30 miles of a major airport

Travel: Heavy weekly travel to project sites across the U.S.

Type: Contract / project-based

Responsibilities:

- Travel to construction sites to deploy, inspect, operate, and support autonomous/robotic equipment

- Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, sensor, and equipment-performance issues in the field

- Work with operators, construction teams, and technical support contacts to keep deployments moving

- Maintain equipment, tools, electronics, sensors, and related field hardware

- Assist with testing, calibration, setup, repairs, and component installation

- Document issues clearly so technical teams can reproduce and resolve field problems

- Support scheduled night or extended operations when project conditions require it

Requirements:

- Construction, heavy equipment, machinery, field service, industrial maintenance, or robotics/autonomous equipment background

- 5+ years of hands-on experience repairing, maintaining, operating, or supporting heavy equipment or complex machinery preferred

- Strong mechanical aptitude and comfort with tools, sensors, electronics, diagnostics, and field troubleshooting

- Ability to communicate professionally with operators, construction teams, customers, and technical support teams

- Willingness to travel weekly and work in changing outdoor/construction jobsite conditions

- Valid U.S. driver's license and ability to lift up to 60 lbs

- Detail-oriented, safety-minded, adaptable, and able to solve problems without constant supervision

- Welding, fabrication, soldering, hydraulics, electrical, GPS/machine control, or construction technology experience is a plus

Why this role:

- Strong annual compensation around $120k for qualified traveling technicians

- Work at the intersection of construction, heavy equipment, and autonomous technology

- Travel-based role for hands-on problem solvers who like real field work

- Professional recruiting support from Rinvio
