Our client, a leading organization in the technology and data management sector, is seeking a Mainframe Developer to join their dynamic team. As a Mainframe Developer, you will be part of the Data Management Department supporting innovative data solutions. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong communication skills, a proactive approach, and a detail-oriented mindset, which will align successfully in the organization.
Job Title: Mainframe Developer
Location: Smithfield, Rhode Island
What's the Job?
Analyze existing mainframe systems to identify data input and retrieval processes
Dissect and document legacy code to facilitate system understanding and transition
Collaborate with teams to define database development standards during migration to modern architectures
Develop and optimize ETL strategies for large data sets ensuring resiliency and stability
Translate business requirements into technical specifications and implement solutions effectively
What's Needed?
Proven experience with PL/SQL and mainframe systems, including COBOL
Experience with ETL strategies, design, and development
Solid background in writing complex SQL queries on Oracle (PL/SQL)
Experience working with large data sets and system design principles
Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
