Job Title: Technology Coordinator (Infrastructure)

Position Summary

The Technology Coordinator provides leadership, management, and oversight of the school system's technology infrastructure to ensure reliable, secure, and efficient operations across all campuses and departments. This position is responsible for planning, implementing, maintaining, and supporting all network systems, hardware, and technology services that enable teaching, learning, and administrative functions.

Key Responsibilities

Technology Operations
  • Coordinate daily technology operations, including device deployment, maintenance, and lifecycle management.
  • Supervise and support technology staff and technicians.
  • Establish and enforce technology standards, procedures, and best practices.
  • Manage help desk operations to ensure timely and effective technical support.
Project Management
  • Lead and coordinate technology infrastructure projects, including upgrades, expansions, and new implementations.
  • Collaborate with vendors, contractors, and internal stakeholders to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Develop timelines, budgets, and resource plans for all infrastructure initiatives.
Infrastructure & Systems Management
  • Oversee the design, implementation, and maintenance of the district's network infrastructure, including wired and wireless systems.
  • Ensure high availability and performance of servers, network equipment, and core systems.
  • Manage data centers, cloud services, and backup/recovery systems.
  • Monitor system performance and proactively address issues to minimize downtime.
Cybersecurity & Compliance
  • Develop, implement, and maintain cybersecurity protocols and safeguards.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local regulations related to data privacy and security.
  • Conduct regular risk assessments and implement mitigation strategies.
  • Oversee user access controls, data protection, and incident response planning.
Budgeting & Asset Management
  • Assist in the development and management of the technology budget related to infrastructure.
  • Track and manage technology inventory, including hardware, software, and licensing.
  • Evaluate and recommend cost-effective technology solutions and purchases.
Vendor & Service Management
  • Manage relationships with technology vendors and service providers.
  • Negotiate contracts and monitor service level agreements (SLAs).
  • Coordinate installation, maintenance, and support services with external partners.
Qualifications

Education & Experience
  • Associate's degree in information technology, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 3 5 years of experience in network administration, systems management, or IT infrastructure.
  • Experience in a K-12 school environment preferred.
Knowledge & Skills
  • Customer service oriented.
  • Strong knowledge of network architecture, servers, and cloud-based systems.
  • Experience with cybersecurity practices, firewalls, and data protection protocols.
  • Proficiency in managing Windows environments.
  • Understanding of both Microsoft and Google
  • Knowledge of E-Rate, school technology funding, and compliance is a plus.
  • Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities effectively.
Working Conditions
  • Ability to lift and move technology equipment as needed.
  • Travel between school sites within the district.
