Required Qualifications - Active Medical Assistant - Certified (MA-C / CMA) credential (MA-R not accepted)
- Current BLS (CPR) certification
- Minimum 1 year of experience as a Medical Assistant
- Experience with Epic electronic medical record (EMR) preferred
- Strong organizational, communication, and patient-care skills
- Previous cardiovascular, cardiology clinic, or outpatient experience preferred
Key Responsibilities - Schedule cardiovascular procedures (echocardiograms, stress testing) and manage procedure logistics
- Prepare charts, maintain accurate patient records, and document in Epic EMR
- Obtain vital signs; record patient history, medications, and allergies
- Perform insurance verification and complete authorization forms
- Handle follow-up phone calls, triage messages, and pharmacy refill requests
- Assist with specimen labeling, specimen processing, and stocking supplies
- Provide telephone triage and support daily cardiology clinic operations
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality cardiac patient care
