Job Title: Structural DesignerJob DescriptionThe Structural Designer is responsible for supporting the design and development of safe, efficient, and constructible structural systems across a variety of project types. This position collaborates closely with structural engineers, architects, and project teams to develop structural concepts and ensure coordination with architectural and MEP systems. The role focuses on producing detailed structural drawings and construction documents using CAD and BIM platforms, particularly Autodesk Revit. The Structural Designer assists with design coordination, constructability reviews, and the resolution of structural conflicts throughout all phases of design and construction. Success in this position requires strong technical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining quality standards.
Responsibilities
- Support the design and development of structural systems across various projects.
- Collaborate with structural engineers, architects, and project teams.
- Develop structural concepts and ensure coordination with architectural and MEP systems.
- Produce detailed structural drawings and construction documents using CAD and BIM platforms, especially Autodesk Revit.
- Assist with design coordination, constructability reviews, and resolution of structural conflicts.
- Support construction activities through site visits, design clarifications, and document revisions.
Essential Skills- 3+ years of experience in structural design.
- Proficient in CAD and Autodesk Revit.
- Strong knowledge of structural systems including steel, concrete, masonry, and wood construction.
- Technical skills in structural analysis and 3D modeling.
- Ability to manage multiple projects while maintaining quality standards.
Additional Skills & Qualifications- Experience in drafting and construction documentation.
- Familiarity with structural steel and concrete design.
- EIT certification is a plus.
- Experience with BIM and steel structure design.
Work EnvironmentThe position offers a flexible work schedule with 3 days in the office and 2 days remote work. The office is located in Lansing, MI, providing an opportunity to work under licensed leadership and participate in diverse projects with a fast track and plan towards leadership.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Lansing, MI.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $26.50 - $32.00/hr.
