Business Intelligence Developer
The BI Intelligence Developer uses data, analytic skills, and business acumen to develop data reporting and visualizations for company stakeholders. The role works with the BI Solutions team and the Business Analysts, utilizing Agile Methodologies to effectively plan, create, implement, and manage BI visualization solutions.
Collaborate with stakeholders in the business to deliver tangible data visualizations, dashboards, and analytical reporting through Microsoft Power BI, SSRS, Share Point, Power Apps/Flow, SQL or other analytic platforms that are validated, timely, relevant, and in alignment with our corporate strategy.
Performs reporting/analytics solution requirement definition, design, development, testing, data validation, and deployment activities for new and existing production solutions and ad-hoc analysis.
Modifies existing data software deployed to maximize performance and the user experience.
Collaborates with the business and other Application Developers to design, develop, and test data applications.
Utilizes statistical methods to build forecasting applications.
Acts as an internal consultant to work across company divisions to provide and/or interpret information.
Participates in the design, development, and maintenance of internal database infrastructures.
Participates in data governance and validation to ensure quality data.
Ensures defined best practices, standards, and guidelines are followed during development.
Creates and manages documentation and organization of analytic solutions.
Participates in the support of the Microsoft Dynamics ERP environment where applicable.
Trains users on analytic solutions and provides technical assistance when needed.
Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Power BI, Power Apps, MS Office 365, SQL, DAX, Microsoft Visual Studio.
Working knowledge of Web development techniques.
Strong knowledge and understanding of relational database concepts and data warehouse designs.
General knowledge of business systems.
Strong analytical, quantitative, and problem solving skills.
Good written and verbal communications skills. Must be able to speak, read, comprehend, and write in English.
Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with others.
Ability to keep current with emerging trends, tools, and technologies in the software industry.
Requires a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, related field or equivalent experience.
Requires two years of experience creating data visualizations in Microsoft Power BI.
One year experience using Microsoft SQL Server, SQL, T-SQL, SSIS, SSRS, SSAS and Excel for reporting solutions preferred.
6 months experience creating database objects (tables, views, indexes, stored procedures, etc.). preferred
Requires one year experience creating dashboards and visualizations.
One year experience with Power Apps, Flow, or other BI tools is preferred
One year experience with Microsoft Dynamics ERP software is preferred.
Ability to stand for long periods of time along with walking, sitting, repetitive climbing stairs, reaching (including but not limited to above-shoulder reaching), repetitive bending, stooping, pushing, pulling, leaning and twisting.
Exposure to extreme temperatures and environment.
Ability to lift up to 25 lbs. in accordance with Western States' Lifting Policy to include amount and approach.
