Description
Seking an Entry to Mid‑Level Design / Project Engineer to support stormwater management planning and design, with an emphasis on hydrologic and hydraulic analysis. This engineer will contribute to watershed modeling, floodplain analysis, and drainage design projects, while learning and advancing the modeling tools used.
This is a hands‑on technical role with strong mentorship, exposure to complex modeling challenges, and a clear growth path toward advanced engineering responsibility.
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES
Perform watershed, hydrologic, and hydraulic modeling (1D & 2D)
Conduct drainage, flood control, and floodplain analysis
Support stormwater management systems, BMP planning, and water quality design
Assist with flood mitigation studies and integrated water resource planning
Prepare and organize modeling inputs: rainfall data, gage data, watershed parameters
Use and learn industry tools such as HEC‑RAS, HEC‑HMS, SWMM, and similar platforms
Support technical report preparation and design documentation
Collaborate with senior engineers and the Technical Director to troubleshoot complex models
Participate in internal training, knowledge sharing, and project communication
Additional Skills & Qualifications
MUST‑HAVE QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Environmental, or related Engineering
1–10 years of experience in stormwater, hydrology, or water resources engineering
Coursework or hands‑on experience in hydrologic and hydraulic modeling
Working knowledge of AutoCAD
Proficiency with Microsoft Office
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Ability to work both independently and in a team environment
NICE‑TO‑HAVE / PREFERRED
Master’s degree in Civil or Water Resources Engineering
EIT required for Design Engineer level; PE license preferred for Project Engineer (California preferred)
Familiarity with California, Arizona, and/or US EPA regulatory frameworks
Exposure to:
Floodplain mapping
Fluvial and sediment transport analysis
Urban drainage systems
River engineering

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $70000.00 - $130000.00/yr.
