Position Overview (Central Supply Coordinator)
Heritage Grove Estates is seeking a dependable and organized Central Supply Coordinator to oversee the ordering, inventory management, distribution, and organization of medical and facility supplies within our skilled nursing environment. This role is essential to ensuring nursing staff and clinical departments have timely access to the equipment and supplies necessary to deliver high-quality resident care.
As the Central Supply Coordinator, you will collaborate closely with nursing leadership, department managers, vendors, and facility staff to maintain accurate inventory levels, control supply costs, and support operational efficiency throughout the facility.
Key Responsibilities
Manage daily operations of the central supply department, including ordering, receiving, stocking, and distributing medical and facility supplies
Maintain organized and accessible supply rooms and storage areas throughout the facility
Monitor inventory levels and establish reorder points to prevent shortages or excess inventory
Conduct routine inventory audits and maintain accurate supply records and documentation
Coordinate with nursing leadership and department managers to identify supply needs and usage trends
Process purchase orders and communicate with vendors regarding deliveries, pricing, and supply concerns
Ensure supplies and equipment are stored appropriately and comply with infection control and safety standards
Monitor and assist with management of durable medical equipment (DME) and resident-specific supplies
Support cost-control initiatives by tracking utilization and minimizing waste
Assist with emergency preparedness supply management and inventory maintenance
Maintain compliance with facility policies, CMS regulations, OSHA standards, and infection prevention protocols
Assist leadership with reporting supply expenditures and inventory metrics as needed
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent required
Previous experience in central supply, inventory management, healthcare operations, or long-term care preferred
Knowledge of medical terminology, healthcare supplies, and infection control practices preferred
Strong organizational and time-management skills
Ability to work independently and prioritize multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment
Effective communication and interpersonal skills
Basic computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office and inventory tracking systems
Strong attention to detail and commitment to operational accuracy
Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times
