Senior Developer
Contract Description Consults with clients and other project team members to design, build and manage websites. Develops installation programs for websites. May require a bachelor's degree in a related area and 3-5 years of experience in the field or in a related area. Familiar with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures (i.e., SQL, C++, HTML, CGI and JavaScript). Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of complicated tasks. May lead and direct the work of Contractor staff. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected.
Position: Senior Developer
Overview: The Governor's Office of Information Technology is a consolidated IT service provider for the State of Colorado. Technical support is provided to the various state agencies. A partner agency, the Department of Health Care Policy and Financing uses an application known as BUS, or Benefits Utilization System. The system was an in-house development over a decade ago and now requires upgrade to support system functionality and stability.
Additional Details: This position will be the technical lead to ensure a key migration is complete and successful. The purpose is to move from Cold Fusion 11 on a 32 Bit server environment to ColdFusion2016 on a 64 Bit Server environment.
- 5 years experience in ColdFusion
- Experience migrating from a 32 bit to a 64 bit server environment
- Ability work independently and without significant guidance
- Be onsite Monday through Friday 8-5pm
- Speak clearly and communicate with customers
The current application has 1,514 users. The application utilizes ColdFusion 11, Update 3; IIS7; Java Version 1.8.0_25; MS SQL 2008 R2 database all on 32 bit servers. The application will have documented experience and success in the following:
- Upgrading code from ColdFusion 11 on a 32 bit server environment to ColdFusion2016 on a 64 bit environment. Note: the database will move from standard MS SQL 2008 R2 to enterprise MS SQL 2016.
- Performing all necessary application installation and configuration.
- Ensure application will perform on Windows 10 desktops.
- Creating detailed documentation on all steps taken for installation of software and related java version, config file and environment modifications, etc.
- Replacing tab functionality used in Version 11.
- Modifying screen code as needed.
- Configure the JVM.config, worker.properties, server.xml and other files for the number of users, java heap, performance and document.
