We are hiring substitutes in Shawnee Mission School District.

Substitute teachers may also be referred to as substitute educator, guest teacher, or relief teacher. Substitute aides may also be referred to as paraprofessionals, education technicians, teacher’s aide, instructional assistant, classroom assistant or education assistant.

Minimum Requirements:
• 18+ years of age (22+ to substitute within high school level)
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Fingerprint background check
• Tuberculosis test

Substitute Pay Rates:
• Substitute Teacher, including Early Childhood Education: $145 per day
• Substitute Special Education Teacher: $160 per day
• Building Substitutes: $180 per day

Responsibilities and Job Description(s):
• Assume duties of the district employee in accordance with school district lesson plans, school rules, and Kelly policies
• Empower students to learn, and encourage classroom participation
• For long-term teacher assignments, it may be required to develop lessons plans, as well as build, administer, and grade tests and assignments
