JOB SUMMARY The Laundry Attendant is responsible for ensuring all linens and towels are cleaned, pressed and distributed in a timely and professional manner.This role supports overall guest satisfaction by maintaining high standard of cleanliness, organization, and efficiency withing the laundry facility.JOB RESPONSIBILITIES Job duties include, but are not limited to:Sort, wash, dry, fold, and press linens and towels according to company standards Operate and maintain laundry equipment (washers, dryers, pressers, steamers, folding machines) Inspect linens for stains, damage, or wear and remove defective items from circulation Treat stains using proper cleaning chemicals and techniques Maintain accurate counts of linens, assist with inventory as needed Distribute clean linens to housekeeping and other departments promptly Follow proper chemical handling, safety and OSHA guidelines Keep laundry areas clean, organized and free of hazards Report maintenance issues or equipment malfunctions immediately Other duties as assigned QUALIFICATIONS Previous housekeeping or commercial laundry experience preferred Ability to operate industrial laundry equipment Knowledge of cleaning chemicals and proper handling procedures Strong attention to detail Ability to work independently and as part of a team Reliable attendance and punctuality Bilingual English Spanish language skills preferred, not required DETAILS Position Type:Seasonal Season Dates:April-October HOUSING Employee housing is NOT PROVIDED for this position.Applicants must have secured housing on Catalina Island prior to beginning the application process.PAY TRANSPARENCY The pay for this position is $20.00 per hour.WORK ENVIRONMENT/ PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS Most work tasks are performed indoors.Temperature is moderate and controlled by air conditioning systems.Must be comfortable and able to stand for up to 6-8 hours per day.Must be able to lift up to 20 lbs.occasionally.Requires dexterity, grasping, writing, standing, sitting, walking, repetitive motions, bending, listening and hearing ability and visual acuity.Talking and hearing occur continuously in the process of communicating with guests, management and team.SCHEDULE This position requires a flexible schedule, with rotating weekday and weekend shifts, including day, night, and holiday hours.LIFE ON CATALINA ISLAND A fast paced, exciting work environment with upward mobility and growth opportunities.Meet and engage with people from all over the country and world!
