Greeter/Front Desk
The Patient Registration Associate serves as the first point of contact for patients and visitors entering the medical center lobby. This role focuses on providing a welcoming and professional experience, clearly communicating and facilitating the visitor policy, and ensuring that guests receive accurate directions and support. The associate collaborates closely with volunteers and admitting staff while completing a variety of clerical and administrative tasks to support smooth operations within the hospital setting.
Responsibilities
- Warmly receive and welcome patients and visitors as they enter the medical center lobby, serving as the first representative of the facility.
- Clearly communicate and facilitate the visitor policy, ensuring all guests understand and follow the established procedures.
- Distribute visitor badges to individuals entering the facility, ensuring proper identification and access control.
- Collect visitor badges upon departure and maintain accurate tracking of visitor access.
- Direct patients and visitors to appropriate services, departments, and visitor waiting areas in a clear and courteous manner.
- Work collaboratively with volunteers to coordinate guest assistance and maintain a positive experience for visitors.
- Partner with admitting staff to support patient registration and related front-desk functions as needed.
- Perform a variety of clerical and administrative assignments, such as handling basic documentation, organizing materials, and managing front-desk tasks.
- Maintain a professional and customer-focused demeanor in a busy hospital environment.
- Respond to questions and concerns from patients and visitors, escalating issues to appropriate staff when necessary.
Essential Skills
- At least 1 year of experience in a healthcare environment (preferred)
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to interact professionally with patients, visitors, and staff.
- Ability to perform administrative and clerical tasks accurately and efficiently.
- Comfort working in a hospital environment with frequent public contact.
- Clear and professional verbal communication skills.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with volunteers and admitting staff.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Exposure to medical environments such as hospitals, clinics, or other healthcare facilities.
- Familiarity with basic medical terminology.
- Experience in roles involving direct patient or visitor interaction.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and maintain composure in a busy, public-facing setting.
Work Environment
This position is based in a hospital setting, primarily in the medical center lobby where there is frequent interaction with patients, visitors, volunteers, and admitting staff. The work environment is dynamic and fast-paced, with constant public contact and a strong emphasis on professionalism, courtesy, and clear communication. The associate works on-site at the facility and spends most of the time at the front desk or reception area, coordinating visitor access and providing directions within the hospital.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Oxnard, CA.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $23.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
