  • Take ownership of a meaningful caseload while handling matters from initial strategy through resolution.

  • Work with dedicated paralegal support so you can focus on practicing law and serving clients.

Location: San Diego, CA. This is a hybrid opportunity combining in-office collaboration with the flexibility to work from home.

About Us

We are a boutique family law practice focused on providing thoughtful, highly personalized legal representation across a wide range of family law matters. We believe excellent advocacy starts with understanding each client's goals, communicating clearly, and developing a case strategy tailored to the individual situation. Our team values professionalism, collaboration, compassion, and a down-to-earth approach. Confidential Employer.

Job Description

  • Manage your own caseload involving divorce, legal separation, parentage, child custody, child support, spousal support, and other family law matters.
  • Handle cases from intake and initial strategy through negotiation, litigation, and resolution.
  • Prepare pleadings, motions, discovery, correspondence, legal research, and other case-related documents.
  • Represent clients in court proceedings, hearings, depositions, and other litigation matters.
  • Communicate directly with clients and opposing counsel while providing high-level, responsive client service.
  • Work closely with an assigned paralegal to coordinate case strategy, deadlines, filings, and day-to-day case management.
  • Handle complex and high-net-worth family law matters, including contested custody and support issues and restraining order matters.
  • Advocate for clients while maintaining strong ethical standards, sound legal judgment, and attention to detail.
  • Independently prioritize multiple matters, meet deadlines, and maintain organized case files and billing practices.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of family law experience
  • Active California Bar license and good standing.
  • Established commitment to practicing family law.
  • Experience managing family law matters from start to finish.
  • Strong litigation, legal research, writing, negotiation, and analytical skills.
  • Comfortable appearing in court and advocating for clients.
  • Excellent organization, communication, judgment, and time-management skills.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with attorneys and support staff.

Why You Will Love Working Here

You will have the opportunity to build meaningful client relationships, take ownership of your work, and make a direct impact during some of the most important moments in people's lives. We offer a relaxed but professional environment where attorneys support one another, maintain a sense of humor, and are encouraged to do excellent work without unnecessary bureaucracy. With hybrid flexibility, strong support staff, meaningful litigation exposure, and opportunities for professional growth, this is a great place to build a long-term family law career.
