Business Analyst
Location: Milford Mill, Maryland (Remote) Employment Type: Contract to Perm
Role Overview
The Business Analyst plays a crucial role in product management and requirements gathering. This role requires analytical skills, problem-solving, attention to detail, a customer-focused mindset, and the ability to work collaboratively in a SAFe Agile environment. The Business Analyst will work with the product manager, product owners, business owners, and internal scrum teams to deliver business value in support of the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) in detecting and preventing fraud, waste, and abuse within government-sponsored health programs.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze and organize requirements into stories under epics, generate acceptance criteria, lead refinement sessions, and work with Product Owners on prioritization.
- Work with external teams on timelines and raise risks appropriately.
- Record meeting minutes and key decisions and distribute them to the team for subsequent review with the customer.
- Maintain continuous communication with the customer, project SMEs, and key stakeholders to collect and document business requirements.
- Design and develop future-state business processes and workflows by leveraging industry-standard modeling tools.
- Track customer requirements from inception through delivery.
- Assist with user acceptance testing (UAT).
- Analyze data to understand business problems and opportunities.
- Provide ongoing support and maintenance for implemented solutions.
- Collaborate with the development team to prioritize and resolve production support issues.
Required Qualifications
Experience:
- 5+ years of relevant experience as a Business Analyst.
- Must be eligible and willing to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance.
- Must have lived in the United States 3 out of the past 5 years.
- Knowledge of Agile methodology (such as Scrum) and/or Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe).
- Experience creating detailed reports and presenting information to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Technical Skills:
- Expertise in using JIRA and Confluence for managing requirements.
- Experience in modeling tools like Visio, Mural, and Lucidchart.
Education & Certifications:
- Bachelor's degree.
- SAFe Agile Certification.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in healthcare IT and understanding of regulatory requirements such as HIPAA.
- Experience and/or knowledge of CMS programs, processes, and standards.
Compensation & Benefits
The salary range for this position is $100,000.00 to $105,000.00 annually. This employer provides a comprehensive benefits package.
