Procurement Specialist

We are a fusion power company based in Everett, WA, with the mission to build the world's first fusion power plant, enabling a future with unlimited clean electricity. Our vision is a world with clean, reliable, and affordable energy for everyone. Since Helion's founding in 2013, we have raised $1.5 billion from long-time investors such as Sam Altman, Mithril, and Capricorn Investment Group as well as new investors including Thrive Capital, LightSpeed Venture Capital, SoftBank, and others to propel us forward. Our current prototype, Polaris, has reached record-breaking plasma temperatures of 150 million degrees Celsius (13 keV). Helion is continuing to iterate and on the path to the world's first fusion power plant, Orion. This is a pivotal time to join Helion. You will tackle real-world challenges with a team that prizes urgency, rigor, ownership, and a commitment to delivering hard truths values essential to achieving what no one has before. Due to organization growth, we are seeking multiple proactive and driven Procurement Specialists to join our growing team. You'll collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to procure off the shelf hardware, equipment, services and software, ensuring timely execution of requirements as needed by Helion Energy's technical and production teams. This position offers the opportunity to become involved in a wide range of procurement activities and categories in a quickly growing organization, along with helping to determine effective procurement processes as our team expands. This is an onsite role that reports directly to the Manager of Procurement at our Everett, WA office.

You Will

  • Support sourcing of direct or indirect items and service categories for custom requirements and applications.
  • Create purchase orders to procure hardware, equipment, software and services.
  • Pursue credit terms with vendors and assist with execution of contracts, forms and agreements.
  • Resolve receiving and invoicing discrepancies.
  • Maintain accurate ERP vendor and open order data.
  • Evolve and implement processes in coordination with team leads and management.

Required Skills

  • Bachelor's degree or the equivalent working experience.
  • 1 - 3+ years of experience working in procurement, operations, or buying function supporting manufacturing and R&D.
  • Operate independently with strong business acumen and problem-solving skills.
