DakotAbilities, a human service agency providing vocational and residential services for adults with developmental disabilities, is looking to fill Full-time and Part-time Direct Support Professional positions and Lead positions. Responsibilities include providing daily living support to people with disabilities in their home, assisting them to achieve their personal goals. Duties include, but are not limited to, assisting with personal care, bathing, mealtime, positioning, lifting, shopping, and involvement in the community.
Essential Responsibilities:
Physical Requirements: Ability to stay awake and alert during all shifts. Ability to work in awkward positions. Ability to work in sustained flexion and crouched positions. The following actions are performed continuously: Lift > 10 lbs. The following actions are performed frequently: Kneel, crouch, stand, walk, lift > 50 lbs., push, pull, bend, reach, handle, finger (pinch-type activity, repetitive movement, talk and hear. The following actions are performed occasionally: Sit, lift > 60 lbs., carry, pull, push, and balance. The following actions are performed seldom: Crawl and climb.
Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent. Sincere interest in assisting people reach personal goals. Ability to lift and transfer people. Valid SD drivers license with safe driving record. Must pass criminal records/background check and drug screening. Minimum of 18 years old; 21 years old to drive
