The Recruiter is responsible for full-cycle recruitment of Direct Support Professionals (DSPs), Residential Counselors, Day Habilitation Staff, Transportation, Clinical and Professional Support Staff, and other mission-critical positions across multiple program sites in New York City. The Recruiter will manage large applicant pipelines, conduct rapid screening, coordinate hiring events, and partner with program leadership to meet aggressive staffing targets while maintaining compliance with OPWDD and NYS regulatory standards. Qualifications
The ideal candidate holds a bachelor's degree in human resources, Business Administration, Psychology, or a related field, with SHRM certification strongly preferred. A minimum of three years of demonstrated, consistent high-volume recruitment experience in human services or healthcare is required, along with hands-on experience using applicant tracking systems (ATS) and recruitment reporting tools. Experience with Oracle or another Human Capital Management (HCM) system is required. Experience working in a unionized environment is a strong plus, including familiarity with collective bargaining agreements, seniority provisions, and labor-management considerations that may impact recruitment and workforce planning. The successful candidate must possess the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment, demonstrate a data-driven mindset with the capacity to analyze recruitment metrics and trends, and exhibit strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills. Knowledge of NYC labor market dynamics is essential to effectively source, attract, and retain qualified candidates in a highly competitive workforce landscape.
