Job description

Field Communities Relationship Manager

Is the opportunity to join a culture where "We Do the Right Thing," and "We Courageously Shape Our Future Together" important to you? If so, Guardian is seeking a motivated individual to join our team as a Field Communities Relationship Manager.

In this role, you will serve as the primary relationship lead and strategic liaison for Guardian's Field Communities, working in close partnership with advisors, Principal Owners (POs), and Client Solutions & Wealth Management (CSWM) leaders. This role is designed to activate Field Communities focused on diverse market segments and interests as engines of advisor engagement, credibility, insight, and growth while ensuring alignment with Guardian's Inclusion & Impact strategy and CSWM priorities.

A critical aspect of this role is bringing a strong Field mindset, rooted in real-world experience with an agency distribution model like Guardian's. The successful candidate will understand how the PO and advisor model operates, how advisors and firms are motivated, and how to translate enterprise priorities into practical, business-relevant content and programming that resonates with the Field and supports practice growth.

This role sits within Guardian's Inclusion & Impact function, which focuses on shaping a culture that connects people and empowers performance while delivering measurable impact for the business, advisors, colleagues, and communities Guardian serves. The Field Communities Relationship Manager reports to the Field Centers of Excellence Lead.

You will:

  • Serve as the primary relationship manager and liaison for Guardian's Field Communities, grounded in a deep understanding of the Field, agency, PO, and advisor operating model
  • Build credibility with advisors and POs by demonstrating fluency in Field priorities, business drivers, and the realities of running and growing advisory practices
  • Balance enterprise and Home Office priorities with Field needs by packaging initiatives, content, and programming in ways that are practical, relevant, and clearly beneficial to advisors and their businesses
  • Provide guidance, coaching, and support to Field Community leaders to strengthen governance, operating discipline, and impact while preserving Field-specific relevance
  • Partner closely with CSWM, Principal Owner Development & Growth, Marketing, Communications, and Enterprise Thought Leadership to align Field Community activities with growth, recruitment, retention, and practice development priorities
  • Activate Field Communities as insight and feedback forums by capturing themes, market intelligence, and practitioner perspectives and elevating them as actionable enterprise insights
  • Support the design and delivery of Field Community convenings, including collective calls, summits, and partnership events that build connection, credibility, and peer learning
  • Strengthen alignment between Field Communities and Inclusion & Impact efforts, including Corporate Impact and philanthropic engagement where appropriate
  • Track engagement, participation, and impact metrics for Field Communities and support ongoing measurement and continuous improvement
  • Operate with strong judgment, professionalism, and execution discipline in a complex, regulated, and evolving external environment

You have:

  • 57 years of relevant inclusion experience, including direct or closely aligned work with an agency-based or independent advisor distribution model like Guardian's
  • Demonstrated understanding of the Principal Owner and advisor business model, including how advisors are motivated, measure success, and grow their practices
  • Proven ability to build credibility and strong relationships with Field leaders, advisors, and firm leadership
  • Experience translating enterprise or Home Office initiatives into Field-ready programs, content, or offerings that drive engagement and adoption
  • Demonstrated success influencing and driving outcomes without direct authority in a highly matrixed environment
  • Comfort operating within ambiguity and change while balancing strategic intent with practical execution
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to tailor messaging for both Field and Home Office audiences
  • Proven organizational, analytical, and program management capabilities
  • Strong active listening skills with curiosity and respect for diverse perspectives
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Teams
  • Financial services, insurance, or wealth management industry experience strongly preferred

Location /Travel:

  • Hybrid role in office 3 days a week, Hudson Yards, NY; Stamford CT or Holmdel, NJ. 2 days WFH.
  • Travel - Up to 20% occasional travel to various U.S. Guardian offices and Field events
