Electrical Engineering Manager

Location: 531 Old Swede Road Douglassville, PA 19518 Schedule: MondayFriday | 8:00AM-4:30PM | Full-time hours on-site Compensation: Competitive salary up to $140,000+ based on experience, leadership scope, and technical depthtop-of-range compensation is reserved for candidates who demonstrate strong, job-relevant experience and independent capability

At American Crane & Equipment Corporation (ACECO), we're looking for a hands-on Electrical Engineering Manager to lead a team of engineers while improving processes, driving standards, and supporting real-world manufacturing and customer needs.

This is not a "sit in meetings and manage from a distance" roleyou're expected to lead from the front.

You won't get lost hereyour impact will be seen in both your team and the work they produce.

This is a working manager roleyou'll spend your time leading and developing engineers, managing workload and priorities, driving accountability, and staying close enough to the technical work to make sound decisions that impact design, manufacturing, and customer outcomes.

What You'll Do

Team Leadership & Development

  • Lead and develop a team of Electrical Engineers
  • Set clear expectations for performance, accountability, and communication
  • Provide coaching, feedback, and support for skill development
  • Build trust across both experienced and newer team members

Planning, Scheduling & Execution

  • Manage engineering workloads, backlogs, and project priorities
  • Ensure deliverables are completed accurately and on time
  • Balance competing demands across multiple projects and stakeholders

Process Improvement & Standards

  • Develop and implement engineering standards, workflows, and best practices
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives across the department
  • Support adoption of ERP, scheduling tools, and system improvements

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner with Manufacturing, Project Management, Sales, and other engineering groups
  • Ensure engineering output aligns with production needs and customer expectations
  • Communicate technical and non-technical information clearly across teams

Technical Oversight & Accountability

  • Stay connected to design work to support decision-making and problem-solving
  • Ensure compliance with NFPA, NEC, UL 508A, CMAA, ASME, NOG-1, NUM-1, and NUREG requirements
  • Support manufacturing and customer needs with timely, practical engineering solutions

What We're Looking For

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering from an ABET/EAC-accredited program required

Experience

  • Extensive Experience as an Electrical Engineer in an equipment manufacturing environment strongly preferred
  • Proven experience leading a team of 510+ engineers
  • Strong experience in industrial electrical engineering (controls, power distribution, safety systems)
  • Experience supporting manufacturing operations and customer-driven engineering environments

Technical & Operational Skills

  • Strong planning, scheduling, and backlog management capability
  • Familiarity with NFPA/NEC, UL 508A, CMAA, ASME, NOG-1, NUM-1, and NUREG standards
  • Experience with ERP/MRP systems, scheduling tools, or engineering workflow systems

Requirements

  • Authorization to work in the United States without current or future employer sponsorship
  • Ability to verify identity and employment authorization (Form I-9)
  • Eligibility to access export-controlled information where applicable
  • Willingness to undergo a background check in accordance with applicable laws
  • Willingness to undergo a pre-employment drug screen and randomized drug testing during employment
  • Ability to meet the posted work schedule and required hours
  • Ability to maintain reliable attendance and punctuality
  • Willingness to follow all company safety policies and procedures
  • Willingness to wear appropriate PPE when in shop or manufacturing areas
  • Willingness to complete required safety and compliance training
  • Ability to perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation
  • Ability to maintain professional conduct aligned with company expectations

Additional Requirements for the Position

  • Full-time, on-site availability MondayFriday
  • Regular collaboration on the manufacturing floor following safety protocols
  • Occasional travel to customer sites
  • Ability to work additional hours as needed based on workload
  • Ability to meet export control compliance requirements where applicable

Work Environment

  • Combination of office and manufacturing shop environments
  • Regular interaction with engineering, production, and leadership teams
  • Exposure to industrial conditions when in shop areas
  • Required use of PPE in designated environments
