Job Title
Responsible for the general flow of materials into and through the manufacturing plant, (i.e. receiving, warehousing, shipping, etc.). Evaluate and train subordinates. Implement policies and integrated cost effective MRP system.
Principle Duties and Responsibilities
- Ensure all personnel within the materials group receive necessary training and possess full understanding of their appropriate job description
- Responsible for managing communication and system integration with customers and operations
- Documentation of all necessary procedures to ensure cross-training can be conducted without interruption in service to customers
- Consults with user and/or management regarding business needs, problems or goals and leads corrective action initiatives
- Designs solutions, either manual or automated to address user or customer requirements
- Investigates material shortages and delays to expedite deliveries, leads long term resolutions
- Work with users and management to define system and user procedures which must be followed
- Manages supplier delivery performance, sets target improvements to correct unacceptable delivery performance
- Oversees that all TS 16949 procedures are followed; leads continuous improvement
- Responsible for setting and meeting budget targets
- Perform all functions in legal, ethical, professional manner
- Maintains a clean and safe work environment
- Continuously improve through REAP, A.I.T.s and Six Sigma initiatives
- Interfaces/communicates with OEM Material Dept. personnel and Supplier Management personnel on daily basis
- Provides MRP/QAD/SAP expertise to SCC group on an ongoing basis
- Inventory accuracy including cycle counts, adjustments, and lean material flow
- Implementation of the Supply Chain Management Strategic Guideline
- Assure returnable container policies, loop-size, and maintenance and tracking requirements are met
- Assure attainment of Inventory Turn Rate budgeted goals.
- Facility the effective implementation of Engineering Changes within the facility
- Drive Continuous Improvement of material flow and automation in the logistics functions toward a World Class WPS rating
- Support and plan launch of new programs
- Support Program Management with demand changes and/or End of Production activities (minimize obsolescence, rack disposal, etc.)
