Safety Director
Schneider is seeking a Safety Director in Green Bay to develop strategic plans for safety performance, including crash and injury prevention and regulatory compliance. The Safety Director will lead a team of safety professionals, collaborate with senior leadership and drive continuous improvement in safety performance. Responsibilities include overseeing the design, implementation and improvement of safety programs, including training, inspections and incident investigations. The Safety Director will track and report on safety performance metrics, communicate safety information to senior leadership and associates, lead the development of annual training for all associates to maintain OSHA compliance, manage the process of implementing new safety technology, direct the work of two or more leaders, and provide testimony in court depositions and trials as needed.
Skills and qualifications include Certified Director of Safety (CDS) certification from the North American Transportation Institute (NATMI) required, OSHA 30-Hour Workplace Safety certification required, Certified Safety Professional (CSP) certification from the Board of Certified Safety Professionals (BCSP) preferred, Associate in risk management (ARM) certification from the Insurance Institute of America preferred, valid driver's license and meet Schneider's DMV record standards, Commercial Driver's License (CDL) preferred, ability to travel 25-50% of the time, and knowledge of OSHA standards and compliance.
