Responsibilities:
As a member of our Policy Development team focused on Behavioral Health & Regulated Content (BHRC), you will serve as a content and product policy expert spanning a portfolio that includes: high-risk and regulated activities (e.g. dangerous acts, fraud and scams, counterfeit goods, and regulated goods and services); nudity and sexual activities; mental health; and youth safety. In this role, you will be part of a global Trust & Safety organization, helping lead our efforts to ensure that our BHRC policies protect the safety of our users while balancing free expression and enabling responsible commercial growth. You will establish and iterate policies governing the TikTok platform, provide subject matter expertise on the intersection of technology, media, health, and regulatory trends, and advise on how to unlock safe monetization within the respective policy domains.
Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications: 5 years of experience in Trust & Safety, Public Policy, Human Rights, Media, Law, Academia, or a related field. Knowledge around some or all of the following: mature content; regulated goods and services; frauds and scams; behavioral health and mental health content; child safety and youth protection frameworks. Excellent ability to synthesize complex topics into concise and digestible materials. Deep understanding of technology, the Internet, social media, and/or platform content issues. Ability to think both strategically and tactically, and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications: Experience with monetization policy, advertising standards, or platform commerce particularly understanding how content eligibility, demonetization thresholds, and brand safety intersect with regulated or sensitive content domains. Familiarity with age-assurance, age-gating, or youth safety product mechanisms and their policy implications. Experience working with or within regulatory bodies, health agencies, or civil society organizations engaged in platform accountability or content governance. Background in clinical, public health, or harm reduction frameworks relevant to mental health content, substance use, or eating and body image topics. Experience in launching new strategies and Zero-to-One initiatives. Proficiency in data-driven policy analysis and related enforcement/technical expertise. Previous experience working within a fast-paced environment.
