Metrology & Test Equipment Maintenance Technical Supervisor

Seeking a motivated 1st shift leader for Metrology & Test Equipment Maintenance Technical Supervisor role at Raytheon, located in Andover Massachusetts. The Department offers maintenance repair and calibration support for over 450 test platforms supporting numerous production programs. The Department provides support in providing solutions to address test equipment obsolescence and new platforms. The complement of test stations serviced includes digital/logic & solid state, Radio Frequency, DC, AC power, vibration, in-circuit probe test, linear measurement, and burn-in, ESD among many others.

In this role the candidate will be responsible for scheduling equipment repairs, test equipment calibrations across multiple programs. The candidate will leverage communication skills through daily interaction with other cross-business teams to meet organizational and program goals and objectives. Ensuring safety, cost, quality and delivery commitments while at the same time identifying and implementing continuous improvement opportunities are critical criteria for this position.

What You Will Do

  • Manage offsite locations test equipment for scheduled recall, repair and calibration.
  • Receive incoming items for internal customers, create order requests, shipping travelers and process government asset transfer requests.
  • Modify CMS software (Indy Soft) for new equipment additions and process calibration certificates.
  • Respond to internal, external emails and escalation issues
  • Schedule onsite vendors for offsite locations
  • Create & maintain procurement and turnaround time metrics
  • Participate in internal quality audits
  • Must provide high quality, on-time, communication and coordination with all shift's leadership teams. Responsibilities also include workforce planning and forecasting, employee training, time and attendance tracking, capital planning, control of overhead expenses and ensuring the enforcement of company policies and procedures. A successful Technical Supervisor will be capable of multi-tasking, motivating a team of represented employees, and prioritizing & implementing complex maintenance and repair activities.

Basic Qualifications

  • Typically requires a Bachelor's in science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 5 years of prior relevant experience, or an Advance Degree in a related field and a minimum of 3 years' experience.
  • 1 year experience in repair/calibration of test measurement or diagnostic equipment.
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

Qualifications We Prefer

  • Experience with ISO 17025 and ANSI Z540 metrology standards is a plus
  • Prior supervisory experience with represented (union) employees
  • Understands basic management approaches such as work scheduling, prioritizing, coaching and process execution.
  • SAP / PRISM experience is a plus

The salary range for this role is 82,000 USD - 164,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills. Specific benefits are dependent upon the specific business unit as well as whether or not the position is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement. Hired applicants may be eligible for annual short-term and/or long-term incentive compensation programs depending on the level of the position and whether or not it is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company's performance. This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
