Project Manager
Location: Chicago, IL (On-site with travel) Shift: MondayFriday, standard business hours
Salary Pay Range and Other Compensation: The salary range for this position is expected to be between $120,000.00 $150,000.00 per year, depending on geographic location, experience, and other qualifications of the successful candidate. This position is also eligible for bonus or incentive compensation based on performance and subject to the terms of the Company's applicable plans.
About the Role
We are seeking a Project Manager to support complex engineering and manufacturing projects within a growing industrial systems environment. This role is responsible for leading full lifecycle project execution from design and fabrication through installation and commissioning. This position offers strong visibility across engineering, operations, and customer-facing functions, with the opportunity to work on highly customized systems supporting global manufacturing operations and long-term career growth.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Lead projects end-to-end including scope, schedule, budget, and quality from kickoff through completion
Coordinate cross-functional teams including engineering, procurement, fabrication, vendors, and field technicians
Serve as the primary point of contact for clients throughout the project lifecycle
Develop and manage project schedules, timelines, and deliverables
Identify and mitigate risks, schedule conflicts, and scope changes
Create process flow diagrams, P&IDs, and 3D system models using SolidWorks
Support mechanical system design and ensure manufacturability and compliance with specifications
Travel to customer sites for installation, commissioning, and field support
Supervise installation activities and ensure adherence to engineering and safety standards
Provide hands-on troubleshooting and technical support during startup and validation
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related technical field (or equivalent experience)
Minimum 3+ years of project management and design experience in manufacturing or industrial environments
Strong experience with SolidWorks for 3D modeling and system design
Knowledge of fabrication processes including welding, machining, and sheet metal
Familiarity with process flow diagrams, P&IDs, and industrial systems
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
Excellent communication skills across technical teams and client-facing settings
Preferred
Prior experience with field installation or commissioning of mechanical systems
Experience with material handling, conveyance systems, or industrial equipment
Familiarity with project management tools (MS Project, Smartsheet, etc.)
