Imagine leading surgical services at a 388-bed Silicon Valley hospital equipped with 12 operating rooms, a world-class robotics program, and key service lines spanning General Surgery, Spine, Ortho, Open Heart, and Neurosurgery. You will oversee a high-performing team of 5055 FTEs, report directly to the VP of Surgical Services, and have the full support of 1 dedicated manager giving you the bandwidth to lead strategically, not just operationally.
This facility is a recognized leader in advanced cardiology, a Joint Commission Accredited Comprehensive Stroke Center, and one of only 3 hospitals in the United States to receive a 5th consecutive Outstanding Achievement Award from the American College of Surgeons Commission on Cancer. What You'll Do
As Director of Surgical Services, you will provide visionary leadership across quality, service, people, growth, and finance. Your core responsibilities include cultivating a superior clinical identity by implementing evidence-based practices that advance patient safety and quality outcomes, ensuring adherence to regulatory and accreditation standards while driving a culture of accountability and transparency, overseeing efficient patient throughput, volume forecasting, and care coordination across the OR, directing nursing practice and developing policies and standards that meet the needs of patients and families, driving exceptional patient experience through strategic leadership and evidence-based service initiatives, attracting, developing, and retaining top surgical talent while fostering a culture of engagement and recognition, collaborating with physicians and administrative leadership to enhance existing services and develop new service lines, participating in budget planning and monitoring departmental performance against financial targets, and managing labor effectively including scheduling, productivity, and premium pay utilization.
