Construction Manager

This is a short-term project involving the replacement of a material handling lift in a clean room pharmaceutical space. The Construction Manager will oversee and manage contractors, including supervisors, foremen, and trade leads, ensuring that all activities are conducted safely and efficiently.

Work hours are night shifts, 7 days a week, with 12-hour shifts.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and manage contractors, supervisors, foremen, and trade leads.
• Monitor daily progress and coordinate trades to maintain the schedule.
• Provide safety oversight and collaborate with site safety personnel on permitting and compliance.
• Operate in and around active utility systems, including live energy environments.
• Complete daily reports using Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Document notes and photos to track progress and address any issues that may arise.

Essential Skills

• Minimum of 5 years of construction management experience.
• OSHA 30 certification.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word and Excel.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience in pharmaceutical clean room environments is highly preferred.
• Candidates with food and beverage or electrical process/mechanical experience are considered.
• Commercial experience is not applicable for this role.
• A 4-year degree in engineering or construction management is advantageous but not required.
• Experience with Microsoft Projects is beneficial.

The project site is located in Kankakee, IL, within a clean room pharmaceutical space. Work hours are night shifts, 7 days a week, with 12-hour shifts from June 15 to July 26. The work environment includes a small on-site team, featuring an on-site Project Manager, Construction Manager, and Safety Manager. Additional temporary commissioning managers, safety support, and interns may join during shutdowns. This is a Contract position based out of Chicago, IL.

The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $60.00/hr.
