Financial Controller Opportunity
Jet Parts Engineering (JPE), a subsidiary of TransDigm Group Incorporated, is looking for an experienced Financial Controller to manage accounting operations and financial reporting for our Seattle headquarters. This role offers high visibility within a publicly traded aerospace and defense organization, reporting directly to the VP of Finance and impacting nine operating entities.

Responsibilities include:
- Leading financial reporting activities in compliance with U.S. GAAP, SEC requirements, and TransDigm corporate policies.
- Consolidating financial statements across nine operating entities, ensuring accuracy and alignment with parent company reporting cycles.
- Driving the annual budgeting and forecasting process, partnering with operations, sales, and executive leadership.
- Serving as the primary contact for internal and external audits, managing audit preparation and relationships.
- Maintaining and strengthening internal controls over financial reporting, ensuring SOX compliance.
- Overseeing month-end and quarter-end close processes, delivering clean, well-documented financials on schedule.
- Preparing and reviewing financial packages, variance analyses, and management reporting.
- Leading, developing, and mentoring the local accounting team, establishing scalable processes and clear accountability.
- Managing and optimizing the company's multi-platform ERP environment.
- Identifying and implementing continuous improvement initiatives across the finance and accounting function.
- Ensuring compliance with all applicable tax, regulatory, and contractual financial obligations.
Required qualifications include:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field; CPA strongly preferred.
- 7+ years of progressive accounting/finance experience, including 3+ years in a controller or senior accounting leadership role.
- Prior experience in a public company or public company subsidiary environment.
- Demonstrated expertise in multi-entity consolidation.
- Deep knowledge of U.S. GAAP, internal controls, and SOX compliance.
- Strong budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis skills.
- Comfortable operating across multiple ERP systems simultaneously.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills with senior leadership.
Preferred qualifications include:
- Experience in aerospace, defense, or industrial manufacturing.
- Public accounting (Big 4 or regional firm) background.
- Hands-on experience with one or more of JPE's ERP platforms.
- Familiarity with TransDigm's financial reporting framework or prior PE-backed company experience.
- Experience managing and developing accounting staff.
- Advanced Excel and financial modeling skills.
- Knowledge of cost accounting in a manufacturing environment.
Compensation and benefits include:
- Salaried position with a base of $150k-$165K, depending on experience, skills, and certifications.
- Variable annual performance-based bonus up to 10%.
