Design Project Manager
We are seeking a technically strong and strategic Project Engineering Manager to lead global engineering design projects and cross-functional teams. This role is responsible for managing medium to high-complexity technology initiatives, supporting customer relationships, and ensuring successful delivery across scope, schedule, and budget. You will collaborate closely with internal teams and business units to define Statements of Work (SOW), develop proposals, manage project financials, and execute project plans on a global scale. This position also plays a key role in adapting deliverables to meet evolving customer requirements.
Responsibilities
- Lead and coordinate cross-functional, global project teams.
- Drive performance through goal-setting, accountability, and ongoing feedback.
- Motivate teams, delegate effectively, and maintain focus during high-pressure situations.
- Manage end-to-end project delivery, including scope, schedule, budget, quality, and risk management.
- Translate technical requirements into actionable plans and ensure alignment across stakeholders.
- Identify key success metrics and monitor project performance against targets.
- Forecast resource and budget needs for current and future projects.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with internal teams and external customers.
- Lead regular project updates, resolve issues, and escalate risks as needed.
- Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction and alignment with expectations.
- Support development of SOWs, project proposals, and contract negotiations.
- Align project execution with business strategy and objectives.
- Conduct design reviews to ensure deliverables meet customer requirements.
- Ensure all deliverables meet contractual obligations and timelines.
- Provide consistent project updates, including risks, changes, and progress.
- Clearly present information to leadership and customers using appropriate tools and formats.
- Respond promptly to inquiries from clients, internal teams, and regulatory bodies.
- Identify and implement process improvements to reduce cost and increase efficiency.
- Monitor project and departmental cost trends and drive continuous improvement.
- Eliminate non-value-added activities and streamline workflows.
- Ensure proper handling of confidential information.
- Follow all safety, security, and company policies and procedures.
Essential Skills
- A bachelor's degree in engineering field.
- 8+ years of work experience with a significant proportion of that time in product design.
- Project Management experience in product design including budget, schedule, risk mitigation within a Quality Management System.
- The ability to provide strategic direction on deliverables for projects according to customer requirements in a timely manner and within budget.
- PMP Certification.
- Experience working in an agile or scrum environment.
Work Environment
This position is on-site with standard hours, and is offered as a 6-12 month contract. It provides an opportunity to work with an industry leader.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $88.00 - $94.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
