Program Coordinator
The International Student and Scholar Program Coordinator is responsible for programming that fosters the success and well-being of our international community. This includes identifying needs, developing learning outcomes, and designing and delivering professional intercultural and support programs that facilitate the educational, professional, and personal success of international students and scholars at UCR. In accordance with federal regulations mandating that sponsoring institutions provide regular orientation, informational, and cultural sessions to F-1 and J-1 students and scholars, the program coordinator is tasked with ensuring compliance with these requirements. Additionally, the Program Coordinator contributes to outreach and campus training initiatives that equip faculty, staff, and students with the necessary resources and skills to effectively contribute to an international campus environment.
The salary range for this position is $56,000.00 - $96,400.00 annually. However, the expected pay scale for this position is $56,000.00 - $66,100.00. We base salary offers on a variety of considerations, such as education, licensure and certifications, experience, and other business and organizational needs. Applicants must have current work authorization when accepting a UCR staff position. Currently, we are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment Visa for staff.

Educational Requirements
Bachelor's degree in related area and/or equivalent experience/training. - Required
Advanced degree in Student Affairs/Higher Education or another related field. - Preferred
Experience Requirements
4-7 of related experience. - Required
Experience working with international students and scholars; demonstrated knowledge of their adjustment and support needs. - Required
Demonstrated experience in programming and event coordination/management. - Required
Experience developing, facilitating and evaluating support programs, intercultural training and orientation programs for international students or scholars. - Required
Experience living, working or and/or studying abroad. - Preferred

Per federal regulations, must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident in order to be appointed as a Designated School Official. - Required
Occasional travel for university related business meetings, conferences and/or professional development. - Required
Shift Work (hours outside standard Mon-Fri 8AM-5PM work hours) - Required
Minimum Requirements
Skill in communicating effectively and professionally using tact and diplomacy and ability to work effectively as an individual, a team member, and with diverse groups.
Thorough knowledge of international students' and scholars' support needs.
Thorough knowledge of advising/counseling techniques through an intercultural lens.
Skills in judgment and decision-making, problem solving, identifying measures of system performance and the actions to improve performance.
Ability to develop original ideas to solve problems.
Abilities in project and program management, problem identification and reasoning skills. Ability to take initiative and ownership of projects.
Ability to successfully market programs and events.
Demonstrated ability to build and create community.
Preferred Qualifications
Skilled with virtual online platforms, social media and website content management.
Understanding of University rules and regulations and knowledge of University processes and procedures.
Ability to speak a second language.
Strong knowledge of common University-specific computer application programs and knowledge of University and departmental principles and procedures involved in risk assessment and evaluating risks as to likelihood and consequences.
