Job description

Construction Manager Asset Management/Repair Services

Orbital is seeking a Construction Manager to support Asset Integrity program execution and expand its Turnkey Repair Services capabilities across client facilities. This position will require 25-30% travel to client sites. In this role, you will lead day-to-day field execution of repair activities, connecting asset condition assessments with repair implementation. As Orbital's on-site representative, you will coordinate field teams, contractors, and client personnel to ensure work is performed safely, efficiently, and in alignment with project goals, schedules, budgets, and quality expectations.

This position is well suited for a field-focused leader who can translate inspection findings into actionable repair scopes and help grow a scalable repair service offering within a programmatic asset management environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and coordinate field execution of repair and construction projects, including follow-up repair work resulting from structural and infrastructure inspections.
  • Serve as the primary field point of contact, ensuring alignment with project scope, safety requirements, and client expectations.
  • Plan and coordinate daily field operations, including access, scheduling, logistics, and sequencing of repair activities.
  • Track field progress, productivity, budgets, schedule performance, and communicate status, risks, and issues to project leadership.
  • Support outage and shutdown execution as needed.
  • Coordinate repair and construction activities across structural, mechanical, civil, and asset integrity scopes.
  • Support delivery of turnkey repair solutions from initial scope development through project closeout.
  • Coordinate contractors, subcontractors, materials, and equipment to support efficient field execution.
  • Assist with mobilization planning, field logistics, and work sequencing across multiple assets and facilities.
  • Monitor repair progress, field productivity, and adherence to cost and schedule targets.
  • Serve as the field liaison among clients, contractors, inspectors, and engineering teams.
  • Verify that repair work is completed in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, and quality requirements.
  • Support QA/QC documentation, field reporting, and project closeout records.
  • Assist in developing and implementing work packages and repair execution plans.
  • Identify field issues and coordinate timely resolution with engineering and client stakeholders.
  • Enforce Orbital and client safety policies across all inspection and repair activities.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA/MSHA requirements, client procedures, and site-specific safety standards.
  • Participate in pre-job planning, job hazard analyses (JHAs), and safety meetings.
  • Ensure work aligns with Orbital's Quality Management System (QMS) and client-specific standards.
  • Promote consistency, repeatability, and continuous improvement in field execution and data quality.
  • Coordinate field personnel, inspectors, technicians, contractors, and subcontractors.
  • Provide oversight and mentoring to junior field staff.
  • Maintain strong working relationships with client operations, maintenance, and engineering teams.
  • Support proposal development, estimating, scope definition, and client discussions.
  • Identify and help develop repair opportunities stemming from inspection and engineering projects.
  • Contribute to the continued growth and improvement of Orbital's Repair Services and field execution capabilities.

Other duties may change at any time with or without notice.

Work Environment: Remote within the Houston, TX Region. Travel to client sites.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering (Structural, Mechanical, or Civil), an associate or bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering Technology, or a related field, or equivalent field experience.
  • At least 8 years of experience in construction coordination or industrial repair execution.
  • Experience in asset-intensive industries such as power generation, oil and gas, refining, chemical, manufacturing, steel, or mining.
  • Strong field leadership skills, including the ability to manage crews, contractors, schedules, and logistics.
  • Working knowledge of inspection methodologies, construction practices, repair execution, and industrial safety requirements.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and construction documents.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and project tracking or documentation tools.
  • Willingness and ability to travel to regional client sites.

Preferred Qualifications

  • TWIC card.
  • Experience supporting Asset Management, Asset Integrity, Mechanical Integrity (MI), or Risk-Based Inspection (RBI) programs.
  • Experience with structural steel, concrete, fall protection systems, or mechanical equipment repairs.
  • Familiarity with outage and shutdown coordination and QA/QC processes.
  • Experience with contractor management and turnkey project execution.
  • Familiarity with digital inspection platforms and asset management systems.

Salary Range:

  • $100,000 - $175,000 annually (based on experience, qualifications, and location)
