System Manager - HIM-Medical Records
Southwest Healthcare is seeking a System Manager - HIM-Medical Records who collaborates with staff across the Region. Duties include but not limited to: participating in emergency preparedness drills, demonstrating understanding of his/her role in the event of an emergency or disaster, facilitating departmental and hospital educational activities and inservices in conjunction with the Education Department, responsible for development, review and revision of departmental written policies and procedures, ensuring that the department has equipment, supplies necessary to provide consistent quality and service delivery, reporting any unsafe situations or safety hazards immediately, labeling and removing any malfunctioning equipment from service and notifying Office Manager and/or Plant Ops.
Qualifications: Bachelor's degree from an accredited College or University in Health Information Management required. Master's degree from an accredited College or University in Health Information Management preferred. Five (5) to Seven (7) years of experience in Health Information Management with emphasis on training, quality and record management required. Minimum 3 years leadership experience in Health Information Management required, acute care experience preferred. Current Registered Health Information Administrator Certificate (RHIA) or a current Registered Health Information Technician Certificate (RHIT) required. Must have valid California Driver's License and reliable transportation. Demonstrates knowledge and ensures compliance with the Joint Commission and Title 22 standards and guidelines. Demonstrates compliance with Healthcare policies and procedures at all times. Demonstrates strong leadership, organization, communication, and interpersonal skills. Demonstrates ability to relate to clinical personnel and medical staff, as well as ability to interact well with the public. Must have knowledge of PC and applications. Demonstrates the ability to adhere to all Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA), Federal and State statute, as it related to proper and improper releases. Demonstrates a high level of awareness in protecting patient P.H.I., including double check using two patient identifiers for verification of documentation that may be given to outside agencies or patients. Ability to set priorities and appropriately prioritize workload to complete assignments in a timely manner. Demonstrates knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy and physiology. Demonstrates ability to collect and display statistical data. Demonstrates ability to perform and remained focused when working in a fast-pace environment with frequent interruptions. Demonstrate ability to handle emergency or crisis situations.
