Job description

ASI Wellness Director

The ASI Wellness Director is a foundational role responsible for creating the first-ever comprehensive wellness program for Associated Students Inc., California State University, Fullerton (ASI). This position will permanently shift ASI and the university's approach to well-being by establishing a new, holistic framework. The ASI Wellness Director will create and establish brand-new wellness programs, services, and facilities and hire wellness staff to implement those programs for the students of California State University, Fullerton (CSUF). The ASI Wellness Director, under the direction of the Assistant Executive Director Wellness and Recreation, is responsible for the strategic development, implementation, and management of comprehensive ASI wellness programs designed to foster a holistic culture of well-being for the CSUF campus community, encompassing the 8 Dimensions of Wellness: physical, emotional, social, spiritual, environmental, intellectual, financial, and occupational.

The primary focus of this position is centered on addressing students' wellness needs by incorporating extensive outreach and direct engagement with students to co-create programs that are relevant and impactful. The ASI Wellness Director will collaborate with various campus departments (including the campus health, counseling centers and wellness-focused faculty), student organizations, healthcare providers, and community partners to create and promote a wide range of wellness initiatives. This position requires a dynamic and adaptive leader with a strong understanding of program development, building and leading a team, public health principles, current wellness trends, and college student development. The ASI Wellness Director will play a crucial role in creating a supportive and thriving campus environment that empowers individuals to achieve their full potential, particularly within the context of ASI's mission and goals. The Wellness Director's initial focus will be on program creation and community engagement, and collaboration on construction of a brand-new wellness facility. Facility policies, staff hiring and management, and oversight of the new facility will be necessary as planning and construction milestones are achieved.
