Body Worn Camera Program Administrator
Job Description
This position will be the subject-matter expert for Body Worn Cameras and will require a level of expertise to understand and maintain the program at every level. The employee will be the point of contact for officers for technical issues, troubleshooting, hardware and software needs, and integration of BWC videos into RAMS. This position will be the point of contact for BWC vendors, contracting, grant funding, and procurement for the program. Additionally, this position will liaise with judicial districts to distribute BWC footage for criminal caseloads and with CPW's CORA managers for open records requests.
Specific job duties include but are not limited to:
- ADMINISTRATION: Responsible for the management and administration of BWC contracting and procurement of 450 body-worn cameras for Colorado Parks and Wildlife, ensuring the smooth addition of BWCs into standard equipment and procedures.
- TRAINING: Serves as the primary lead for training CPW officers and administrators on BWC operation, case management, and BWC policy.
- GENERAL RECORDS ADMINISTRATION: Works within the framework of the greater Law Enforcement Records Unit to ensure the smooth operation and management of BWC footage and electronic evidence with RAMS.
- FIELD SERVICES ADMINISTRATIVE SUPPORT: Provides general administrative support on an as-needed basis within the Field Services Branch.
Minimum Qualifications, Substitutions, Conditions of Employment & Appeal Rights
Seven (7) years of relevant experience in Natural Resources, criminal justice, records administration, training, law enforcement database experience with entries, retrievals, and maintenance of data files, and redacting experience or an occupation related to the work assigned to this position. OR A combination of related education and/or relevant experience in Natural Resources, criminal justice, records administration, training, law enforcement database experience with entries, retrievals, and maintenance of data files, and redacting experience or an occupation related to the work assigned equal to seven (7) years.
