As the Project Manager, you will be responsible for the end-to-end delivery of acoustical projects, from initial submittals and engineering to fabrication, logistics, and installation coordination. You will also lead and guide a team of estimators, ensuring that takeoffs, pricing, and bid proposals are accurate and aligned with the contract scope, manufacturing capabilities, and production economics.

This role requires a blend of planning, coordination, and estimation skills to successfully manage projects and collaborate with internal teams, owners, architects, suppliers, and channel partners. You will serve as the primary point of contact for all project-related communications, providing updates on milestones, creating monthly reports, and managing project schedules. The position reports to the Inside Sales Manager and is based in Agawam, MA.

Project Management Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the internal estimating team, overseeing takeoffs, pricing, proposals, and scope reviews.
  • Collaborate with channel partners and sales managers to plan and direct project activities while managing the performance of individual team members.
  • Develop and sustain strong relationships with stakeholders, cross-functional teams, and dotted-line departments to ensure smooth coordination and progress.
  • Maintain a positive working relationship with all team members.

Project Planning and Execution:

  • Establish project objectives, policies, and performance standards within company policy and contract specifications.

  • Collaborate with drafting teams to create accurate shop drawings and fabrication documentation.
  • Report project progress, including schedule creation and updates, in weekly and monthly reports.

Estimation and Financial Oversight:

  • Prepare accurate conceptual estimates with basic information, ensuring assumptions align with actual fabrication capabilities and capacities.
  • Interpret and review construction documents, including drawings, specifications, and bid packages, to perform accurate takeoffs and assess manufacturability.
  • Use a computer platform to prepare cost analysis by calculating and reviewing estimates for material costs, finishes, shop labor, installation assumptions, equipment, overhead, logistics and negotiated pricing
  • Provide detailed and accurate job proposals to meet revenue and profitability requirements, ensuring margin protection by validating estimating assumptions against field realities.
  • Support bid strategy, value engineering, and revisions based on addenda or client changes, ensuring estimates align with shop capabilities, standard assemblies, and acoustic performance requirements.

Stakeholder Communication and Customer Service:

  • Represent the company in front of customers or suppliers at trade shows or onsite for managing key larger scale projects.
  • Investigate and resolve comments or problems with suppliers, customers, or key stakeholders.
  • Plan, coordinate, and oversee customer order processing, addressing inquiries and complaints and resolving complex issues.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of material costs, customer trends, and latest product information.

Quality and Compliance:

  • Ensure projects and products comply with NRC/STC performance and fire rating requirements, as well as ASTM, ADA, FR/fire codes, and LEED standards.
  • Validate all material certifications and project-specific performance requirements.

Educational/Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering or Architecture or related field preferred. Project management training required; certification preferred.
  • 5-7 years proven experience in Project Management of similar role.
  • Prior people leadership experience required; this includes the ability to inspire, motivate, and guide team members effectively. A track record of fostering collaboration, active listening, and the capacity to empower others to achieve their best.

  • Strong time management skills and ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Team player who thrives on collaborating with others to produce proposals.
  • Comfortable in the dynamic atmosphere with a rapidly expanding customer base.
  • Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Knowledge of contract management principles and practices such as, LEED submittals, Lien Releases, Insurance, Schedule of Values, OSHA, jobsite safety, etc.
