Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Director of Clinical Operations to lead and oversee the delivery of high-quality, patient-centered care across our clinical sites. This leadership role is responsible for driving operational excellence, improving clinical outcomes, and ensuring compliance with all regulatory standards. The ideal candidate is a licensed Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) with strong leadership experience and a passion for building efficient, collaborative care teams, and a willingness to provide direct patient care as needed.
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide strategic oversight of daily clinical operations across multiple sites or departments
* Lead, mentor, and develop a team of healthcare providers and clinical staff
* Ensure delivery of high-quality, evidence-based care and exceptional patient experience
* See patients as needed to support clinical coverage and maintain quality of care
* Monitor and improve key performance indicators (KPIs), including quality metrics, productivity, and patient satisfaction
* Collaborate with executive leadership to develop and implement operational strategies and growth initiatives
* Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations, as well as organizational policies
* Optimize workflows, staffing models, and resource utilization to enhance efficiency
* Support recruitment, onboarding, and retention of clinical staff
* Drive initiatives related to value-based care, population health, and care coordination
* Manage budgets, forecasting, and financial performance of clinical operations
Qualifications:
* Active and unrestricted NP or PA license in [State]
* Masters degree from an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program
* Minimum of 5+ years of clinical experience, with at least 23 years in a leadership or management role
* Strong understanding of healthcare operations, clinical workflows, and regulatory requirements
* Experience with value-based care models preferred
* Proven ability to lead teams, drive performance, and implement process improvements
* Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
Preferred Qualification
* Experience managing multi-site operations
* Background in primary care, urgent care, or specialty care environments
* Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems and data-driven decision-making

* Plan, direct, or coordinate medical and health services in hospitals, clinics, managed care organizations, public health agencies, or similar organizations.
* Direct, supervise and evaluate work activities of medical, nursing, technical, clerical, service, maintenance, and other personnel.
* Develop and maintain computerized record management systems to store and process data, such as personnel activities and information, and to produce reports.

* Maintain awareness of advances in medicine, computerized diagnostic and treatment equipment, data processing technology, government regulations, health insurance changes, and financing options.
* Establish work schedules and assignments for staff, according to workload, space, and equipment availability.
* Monitor the use of diagnostic services, inpatient beds, facilities, and staff to ensure effective use of resources and assess the need for additional staff, equipment, and services.
* Direct or conduct recruitment, hiring, and training of personnel.
* Manage change in integrated health care delivery systems, such as work restructuring, technological innovations, and shifts in the focus of care.
* Maintain communication between governing boards, medical staff, and department heads by attending board meetings and coordinating interdepartmental functioning.
